During this challenging time, parenting is tough. Our patience at times will be, and has been, pushed to the limits. However raising your voice is ineffective and simply raises more tension in the home.
My tip is to use humour and games to deal with everyday challenges and turn frustrating power struggles into family fun.
You will find that with this approach that young children, school-age children and teenagers will listen and cooperate, and surprisingly, this will result in your children working with you rather than against you.
Make sure you take some time out- it is really important. Maybe find a window to get some exercise or organise a Zoom call with friends. Even a trip to the supermarket alone can be enjoyable- I have found this pure bliss!
Keep things fun, keep your humour and remember -this won’t last forever!
